All the Bunnies
All the Bunnies
• Voices!
Have children lying on the floor, pretending to sleep as the set up for this song. It can be done even in a relatively small space. All the bunnies fast asleep, All the bunnies not a peep, If I should sing my song today, Will all those bunnies get up and play? (Children get up and hop around room) Get up little bunnies hopping, hopping, Get up little bunnies hop, hop, hop. Get up little bunnies hopping, hopping, Get up little bunnies hop and stop! I do this several times in a row, and preschoolers just love it. The song can easily be adapted for any other animal or theme. ie.balloons - floating, frogs - leap, etc.

Powerful Kid Magic
Eric started using his mother's empty teakettle as a magic lamp pretending he could summon the genie and grant wishes. "Make three wishes, Mom" he told his mother, "and I'll make the genie grant them."
His mom first asked to rescue all poor kids from poverty. Eric proceeded to rub "the lamp" and pretended to talk to the invisible genie, then proclaimed his mom's wish fulfilled.
Next, his mom asked for a cure for all sick kids. Again, Eric rubbed the pretend lamp and spoke to the invisible genie, then said his mom’s second wish was fulfilled.
Eric’s mother then looked down at her own rather ample figure and made her third wish, "I wish to be thin again."
At this Eric started rubbing his magic lamp furiously. When the magic obviously failed to work Eric looked up at his mom and said very matter-of-factly, “Mom, I think I’m going to need a lot more powerful magic for this wish”!

Growing-Up Tips
3 years onwards ...
getting creative
Help nurture your child's creativity by stimulating his mind with activities and games, such as puzzles, simple board games and riddles, and colouring books. Limit the amount of time he spends with video games or in front of the computer or television to two hours maximum a day - this will prevent him from becoming dependent on them or developing a short attention span.

safety tips
* Do not leave coins on tables or counters - they are among the most common non-food items swallowed by children.
* Never tell children that medicine is 'candy/sweets' to coax them to have it, as they might just help themselves to some when you are not around!

socialising
Don't tell other people if your child is shy. Rather arrange for your child to play with other children in small groups or invite younger children for him to play with, so he can take the lead.

cleaning ears
Nothing should go into your toddler's ears unless under medical supervision for an ear infection. It is very easy to damage the eardrum or ear bones and cause permanent scarring or hearing problems. Use a soft swab to clean the outsides of the ears only.

first words
When most children enter their first year, they start saying their first words. Encourage your child as she builds her vocabulary in the next few months. You'll find that six months later she'll be using two-word phrases like "bye-bye".
